In short:

Among the most commendable of coolers processor, selected for their excellent reports price / performance / noise, it is worth mentioning:

- For platform LGA2011 INTEL: the Cooler Master Hyper T4 .

- For the platform INTEL LGA 775, 1150, 1155, 1156 and 1366: the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo (Dualcore processors) and Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 (Quad-core processors).

- For platform AMD Socket FM2, FM1, AM3 +, AM3 and AM2: the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo (Dualcore processors) and Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 (Quad-core processors).

- For platform AMD Socket 754 and 939: the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro and Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 .

- For the platform INTEL Socket 478: the Scythe Shuriken .

In ascending order of performance, Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo , Thermalright Macho , Noctua NH-C12P SE14 , Thermalright True Spirit 140 , Be Quiet Dark Rock 2 , Noctua NH-U14S and much more Noctua NH-D14 and Thermalright Silver Arrow stand out especially for their performances remain good with low rotational speeds of the fan performance which then accompanied by a low noise level.

Note, however, that the extraordinary weight and dimensions of such excessive sink imply strong constraints on the motherboard, which is not designed to withstand mechanical stresses such officially. Although in practice this does not seem to worry and that these solutions are more effective, it should at least not move the computer without great care once the heatsink in place. Among these models, it should be a special mention for the Noctua NH-C12P SE14 is lighter, less high (less mechanical stress on the motherboard), already very powerful and very quiet, while allowing it to cool components around the socket (which can improve the stability of a machine, especially overclocking or in the case of a very poorly ventilated configuration).

More powerful still, the Corsair H110 however involves having a housing with two slots 140mm fans to allow installation of the 280mm radiator. It should be noted however that, contrary to a Noctua NH-C12P SE14, components around the socket are not well cooled with the water cooling kits.

Finally, for those assembling a MiniPC and having limited space the best products are the Artic Cooling Freezer 11 LP , Noctua NH-L9A , Noctua NH-L9i , Scythe Shuriken , Scythe Big Shuriken 2 , Noctua NH-L12 and Thermalright AXP -100 . All these models have measurements similar to those of a cooler "BOX" while being much more discrete / performance.
